JAY BHIM MOVIE REVIEW

    JAY BHIM MOVIE

Jay Bhim movie is a story of a lawyer who fights for the land rights to tribal people. Jai Bhim (Victory to Bhim) is a 2022 Indian Tamil language drama film written and directed by T. J .Gnanavel .Produced by Jyotika and Suriya.

The film s set in the southern Indian sate of TamilNadu and based on events that occurred at Muthanai village, Cuddalore district, in 1993. Sengani's character is based on Parvathy.who fought an uphill battle to get justice fir her husband Rajakannu. They belonged to the Kuravar tribe, whose members are mostly agricultural workers. Rajakunnu was arrested by the police at Cuddalore Kammapuram police station. He was beaten to death. Cops claimed he escaped from prison. Sengeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice  for her husband.

                        Cast:

Adv. Chandru:  a lawyer who fights cases for tribal communities.

Sengeni Rajakannu: a tribal women who wants justice for her missing husband.

Rajakannu: Sengeni 's husband who dies in police custody.

Alli Rajakannu: Sengeni and Rajakannu's daughter.

Mythra: an adult teacher for the Irula tribe.

IG Perumalsamy: the lead officer of the case.

Ram Mohan: Advocate general .

DGP Radha krishnan

Irutappan: Rajakannu's brother.

Mosakutty: Rajakannu's  brother in law.

SI Gurumoorthy: a casteist cop and one of the murderers.

Head Constable Veerasamy:  one of the murderers.

Constable Kirubakaran: one of the murderers.

The film opens with the depiction of the caste chasm in society with the police asking  surnames of prisoners to decide whom to release only upper and intermediate-caste prisoners are released under pressure to nab the culprits of several pending cases, the police scapegoat the prisoners belonging to the lower castes.

As the movie progresses, T.J.Gnanavel also gets it right is the manner in which Dalits and people from tribal communities are exploited for their labour. Rajakannu earns a living by making bricks for his oppressors, but he cannot build a house for himself.  He is called on every time there are rodents and snakes in the fields but isn't allowed to touch or strike a conversation with a dominant caste member. He gets shooed away by a lady, when he says they come from the same village.

The uper castes habitually insult and discriminate against them, which they usually shrug off and move on. We seem them struggle to get papers from the government. " We ask him for one paper and he is asking us for three". Jokes one of them after being refused a caste  certificate because they don't have ration card, voter ID, aadhar card and si on! . The film goes through several such everyday indignities, without a sense os outrage, perhaps priming us for what's to come.

In another scene, Advocate Chandru leaving his political movement, to take action and bring justice. He jumps over the barriers and moves straight  into the court. The message is clear: It's fine to protest, but we can make the real difference through our most potent weapon, which is the law. Action counts more than words. Chandru explain us clearly.

    "  It's a battle for equal rights. "

" Reclaim the power; justice is gor all".

In another scene, advocate Chandru is shown participating in a program where children dress up as prominent Indian leaders." All the important leaders like Gandhi and Nehru, are here. How come only Ambedkar isn't here?" he remarks.

When jewellery is stolen from  sarpanch's house. Rajakannu, Irutappen, Mosakutty are falsely arrested and beaten up. Then , with the help of Mythra, Sengeni comes to Chandru for help. And Chandru disproved the witnesses produced by the police in the court. And request  the court to CBI but finally hand over the case to IG Perumalsamy.

Perumalsamy realises Chandru's point. To change Perumalsamy's mind, Chandru doesn't use violence but the power of words again. Advocate Chandru brings officer perumalsamy to meet with all the " Untouchable" victims of the corrupted policeman. Those witnesses  more Perumal- samy's soul. And fortunately, Perumalsamy takes  the rights decision because of his duties and responsibilities to protect human right and democracy. But it is not an easy choice because Perumalsamy is going against the whole system, risking his position ,money and his own life.

Apart from this, there is a sence in the movie where DGP orders his subordinate police officers to drop the pregnants Sengeni back to her house in their Jeep.  The jeep follows  Sangeni to her house requesting her to sit in the jeep. These scene  highlight the authority of the court and the system in which crores of people believe even today.

" Beyond words of support to justice, the court's silence towards injustice is more dangerous."

When Rajakannu was suffering the pains caused by  the policeman, his brother suggested that he tell a lie and admit the crime to be free after a while. Perhaps this is the easiest solution, but not the right one and Rajakannu remind his brother that the wounds will heal, but the stamp as thieves will remain forever.

And the same about Sengeni when the police offer her money in exchange for silence. She proudly refuses, risking everything in the name of her husband and justice.  But also to provide a genuine model role to her babies. This is a symbol that money is not important in their life but their self respect and their family is important. when money is given importance in today's Modern era.

"  justice denied to a victim can create more damage then injustice suffered by them".

Towords the end of the movie, advocate Chandru in his closing arguments in front of the court says," what the court will give is not mereba judgement, but hope."  The courts today need to keep this in their minds that all those who are voiceless consider the courts as their voice; you are the last hope for all those who are languishing in jails framed under false charges.

In the end of the movie, Chandru with his tireless efforts and help of the IG Perumalsamy  brings justice to Sengeni and the tribal people. And SI Gurumoorthy,  head constable Veerasamy and constable Kirubakaran arrest by police.

IS TECHNOLOGY A BLESSING OR CURSE?I

Is Technology         A Blessing Or  A Curse?

" Technology like art is a                                     soaring  exercise of the                                     human imagination. "

In modern age, everybody are using technology from when men get up and sleep. In morning they use alarm, It is a technology. Men's day start with technology.

According to Disha Sharma, Technology a child of humans, is not an underestimated term. In the present scenario, it's a necessity for everyone.  It seems similar to democracy, which states that it is of the people, for the people and by the people. Technology seems to share a similar notion.

Good thing of technology is that,  In Covid - 19, every schools and colleges were clossed,. In that time technology was very helpful for people and students. Technology is also using for pregnant female animal, small naker camera is helpful to take care of it . That is also technology.

According to Twisha Kaul, Technology has proven to be helpful in various fields, whether it be education or infrastructure. Online classes help children  learn things while sitting at their homes. Comfortably during a curfew or some illness. Educational games help to create competitive skills within them, which allows them in the real world.

" Technology  should improve.                            your life.... not become your                            life".          - Billy Cox

In modern age,  small children are also watching mobile whole day. So mobile brightness harm for children's eyes. So they can not give attention on their study. Some people are using technology for making reels and waste their time and some time they lose their life. That time I feel that technology is curse.

According to Sakshi Shree, looking  closely at a computer  or mobile phone screen can also cause light sensitivity, dry eye, blurred vision, fatigue and headache. Also, most computer users sit is an awkward position for a long time.  Over time, this may lead to musculosketetal issues.  Those who are addicted to loud music and use headphones may suffer hearing loss.

In today's age, young children and young people try to do the scenes shown in the movies in real life. So sometimes it is time to lose one's life. And sometimes they go down the wrong path and ruin their careers. And also threatens the lives of their family members.

According to NVSHQ team, kids are not spending enough time with their family and friends. They like to connect virtually with peoples, sharing their life info like photos and texting online. Which is cutting them from society creating social disconnects.

Technology causes lack of Interest in studying. Even , Environmental problems , air pollution, sound/noise pollution due to technology. Technology causes health problems in people.  It causes social Isolation of the people. And also security Issues in using the technology.

"Technology is a useful                                       servant but a Dangerous.                                 master".

According to Vikas Kumar, as my opinion technology is necessary but you have to not depended upon it's totally, after all we are human and work well, and if your not using above limit it's great thing I Gusss.

So, we can say that If we use technology in good way it is blessing for us. And If we use bad way it is curse for us. So we make sure, we always use in good way.

ON DARTMOOR

       On Dartmoor

On Dartmoor is one act play written by  Neil Grant. On Dartmoor may appear to be a crime play, but actually it is a satire on a certain type of idealism which may be called fashionable or armchair. It was published in 1933.

Questions:

1.State the theme of the play.
Answer:
According to me, the theme of the play is given below:
           1.Kindness and Cruelty :
The play opens with Muriel and Leonora receiving a call from the police informing them of an escaped prisoner. Muriel and Leonora are against the police system so they decide to shelter an escaped prisoner. The plot of the play progresses, as someone knocks on the door. Muriel and Leonora open the door and ask his name and it turns out to be an escaped prisoner, Bill Syme. Both of them shelter him and also give him whiskey. They also gives him his own money and car keys and his grandfather's coat to make it easier for the police to come and  cannot catch him. But Bill Syme, who calls himself a prisoner but in real he is a crook, and his friend Albert Read, together betray Muriel and Leonora and steal everything from the house and cut the telephone wire so that they cannot get help. This shatters the idealism of both of them and at the end of the play they actually kill the escaped prisoner with a pillow, mistaking them for a crook.

             2.Blind Faith :

In the play we see that  Muriel and Leonora shelter the escaped prisoner and give them food and whisky to eat. And if the police come to catch the escaped prisoner Bill Syme, they gives his their car, money and even his grandfather's coat to make his escape easier and trust him blindly but an escaped prisoner is not really a prisoner, he is a crook disguised as a prisoner. Bill syme and his friend Albert Read steal all thing into Muriel and Leonora's house together. Breaks their trust. They also cut telephone wires to prevent them from getting any help.

Question: 2
Bring out the satire in the play.
Answer:
This play is a satire on a certain type of idealism which may be called fashionable  or armchair idealism.Through this play,  the writer points out the flaws in the society. The satire is not direct but is made evident with the help of contrasted  situations. The dramatist seems to imply that impractical idealism cannot solve the problems of society. Most of the people who pose as ifealists are the idle rich who dabble on these things to kill time and to get some excitement in their otherwise dull and uninteresting, fashionable lives.Such idealists.since they are divorced from reality, often come to grief.

The writer has satirized the government in the play. The government is not doing the work it is supposed to do and commenting on women's clothing but not solving other problems. Apart from this the author has satirized the police system. Satirized that behavior of the police with the general public.

 Question: 3
Do you find anything farcical in the play ? If so,point it out and show its farcical nature.
Answer:
There are so many farcical elements in these play, which are as follows:

When Leonora says that some man is outside but Muriel doesn't believe it and says nonsense,Leonora says behind the hedged in the garden but Muriel says you are dreaming. Which is funny to the audience.
When both the girls realize  that there is actually someone in the garden they both get  scared and start shaking and their voice also shake which we find ridiculous.
When Albert Read turns up as a sergeant and comes to Muriel and Leonora's house the two pretend to read something and Muriel starts discussing PM's rotten speech. which is hilarious.
Muriel is angry with Albert  Read and his torn is very rude that's why Muriel also rude to him and that time Leonora  is asked to Sergeant  read that have a cigarett?
when Bill Syme  and Albert  Read break into Leonora  and Muriel 's house, Muriel runs to  the telephone to call the police but realizes that the crook has cut the telephone  wire, and we are amused at their distress.
Also, when a real escaped  Prisoner name Fred Lee comes to the duo's  house to asking for help, they both mistake Fred Lee  for Bill Syme  and Albert Read  and smother him with a pillow, much to our amusement.

Question: 4
Describe the trick played upon the two ladies by the two thieves.
Answer:
Two thieves trick two ladies out of their wits, which is as follows:
As the play opens, Muriel  is informed by the police of a prisoner who has escaped from the prison and is told to inform the police if he comes across. The crook instructs the escaped prisoner to break into Muriel's house. It seems well that Muriel and Leonora are against the police system. After a while there is a noise from the garden but there is no one. Them there is a knocking at the door, a man.His name is Bill Syme.
He is dressed as an escaped  Prisoner but  is actually a crook.  He pretend  to be hungry ,thirsty  and tired.Muriel and Leonora give him whiskey. And then Bill Syme praises Muriel, he says you wrote the book "Horror of Prison  Life " is very good. And thus he wins the trust of both. And after some time he gets sympathy by telling a false story of beating his wife with a hammer.
As the play progresses,  Bill Syme says what would I do if the police came to arrest me.Muriel and Leonora give him money , car keys and send him to the top floor of the bungalow, and destroy his footprints, whiskey glass and everything.
Then there is a knock on the door. which is Sergeant read who is actually Albert read who is the friend of Bill Syme.He makes inquiries like a policeman. Raising his voice and acting a rudely so that they think they are policemen. Then he goes to the second floor on the pretext  of a searching and steals Muriel  and Leonora's precious jewellery, valuables like platinum watch, rings, gold chain, mink coat, pearl necklace, gold bottles.Beside, he also cuts the telephone wire so that these two do not get any kind of help.
Thus two  ladies are deceived by two thieves.
